Song Of The Week

Kuchh Khaas from Fashion. This is a very simple sort of song in that its lyrics are the kind one often hears in Bollywood's romantic numbers. But the overall effect created by the words, the music, and the singers is pretty amazing. Mohit Chauhan has, as always, done his job well, but the female singer, Neha Bhasin, whom I've actually never heard before, seems to be a pretty promising, talented singer.

There is this one line from this song that I really liked for some unexplained reasons:

Dil ko dikhaa dil ki shakal ka koi

It's probably the only line I can remember from this song. These days my memory fails me when it comes to remembering the lyrics of songs that I really like. I think the last time I was able to memorize the complete lyrics of a song was a little over a year ago, with Bol Na Halke Halke.

You were listening to me, were you? I thought you were actually trying to fix some bugs!

And there are two levels to remebering the words of a song. The first level is when you remember them well enough to sing along when the song is playing. The second level is when you can sing it even when it isn't playing. I haven't been able to reach the second level.

allow me to quote a friend of mine hu said dis ven once she happened to hear me hum along a song: "isn't it unfortunate dat v don't have ne ear-lids?"
if u think i meant to suggest i needed ear-lids when u vr humming along, u got me totally wrong...all i intended to do was to bring the fact to ur notice. :D
n besides, i was introduced to multitasking at an early age; n hav had to privilege to perfect it...please feel free to call @ 33982 to schedule appointments if u need ne lessons; early-bird-offer -- free advice on "remembering what u hear" complimentary :P

WHy am I only supposed to call 33982 for lessons in Biology, multitasking, and remembering what you hear???

And REMEMBERING WHAT YOU HEAR? You can't generalize remembering song lyrics to remembering what you hear, sir. I've heard you and Alok point out to each other more than once that you need to be careful about what you say in front of Bhavya, because Bhavya remembers stuff.

Bhavya said...

By the way, on what other subjects can I schedule lessons by calling 33982?

ans to 1st question is that i run dis part-time-business of making ppl more aware abt stuff like multitasking etc. strictly during offic hours...in after-ofice hours i have 2 wrk u c :-)
n apropos the complimentary "remembering vat u hear" lesson, suit urslf! i ws jst being generous n offering the whole pkg 4 free...u cn chose to sit through "remembering the lyrics" section of the lesson and skip d rest if u want...

Why can you not work during office hours and do something else after office hours, like shop for a more interesting wardrobe?
:P

n apropos d list, u cn hav d whole catalog delivered at ur desk by placing an order @ 33982...only 100 bucks per catalog. payments should be made in advance via Credit Cards. payments instructions shall be divulged on the call itself after the order has been taken

Bhavya said...

How come I wasn't told about the existence of this catalog during the last one year?

just 2 remind d readers of dis post...bhavya indirectly admitted to her being a liar by the 2nd comment itself...the whole conversation-on-a-variety-of-topics-over -comments thingy is just to confuse the reader and make them leave the page vid the fact "bhavya lied in her post" severely blotted-out in d reader's memory.
this comment shall do what is just by brining the fact to forefront again :-)

I DID not lie! In the third comment I explained what I was referring to when I was talking about remembering lyrics.

Remember I promised to write a post about you?

People, it seems that I have mastered the art of making Ashish Chopra shut up! I just need to tell him that I am going to write a post about him. He was quiet after I said that the last time, and then again today!!!

actinium said...

in my defence, hu vudn't shut-up vid such a threat?! y shud i risk d whole world knowing me through "pink-tinted glasses of bhavya"?
n apropos "mastering the art", u r nowhere near it! just employing one tactic every-time can't be termed as "art"...

Bhavya said...

PINK TINTED GLASSES???
That kind of phrase generally signifies seeing something in a more positive light than you normally look at things. I am certain that that is not what you meant to say here.

Bhavya said...

And yes, I got a little carried away, because it is so darn difficult to get you to be quiet!!!
I actually meant to say "found a way to" when I ended up saying "mastered the art of"

actinium said...

well...u r confusing the expression i used with rose-tinted-glasses. "pink-tinted" means d tint u'd provide to every detail abt me >:)
n its very sad that it took 2.5hrs (if not more) b4 u realized ur "mistake" of calling ur self a "master of the art" :P

Bhavya said...

I'm not confusing it with rose-tinted. It's just that it was a similar expression, so it should mean something similar. That's why I said "That kind of phrase."
And it's not that I took two and a half hours to realize that I'd been a little carried away with my emotions, it's just that I also have better people to talk to!
:P
